I was lucky to be born into an artistic family. On my father's
side, my uncles, cousins, and brother, the Sheridan's of Windy Arbour,
Dublin, are all artists. On my Mothers side the Padian's and Murray's
of Roscommon, were stone and wood carvers. I have been sketching
and painting for as far back as I can remember.
Although my paintings have a contemporary flair, I also try to
include the beauty of the old Masters techniques. I try to create
paintings that are quiet and give a feeling of tranquillity, and
yet still hint at a little mystery. I always tell myself to have
courage when I begin a painting; the challenge is to stick by my
design and to make it come alive.
